ALPHA (Wan & TDM Voice/Zaptel & TDM API)

These drivers are released as CVS snapshots. These major developments have added features, but still require debugging. They usually have the latest features and hardware support. During the initial hardware release, these drivers may change a few times in a single day. Once the new hardware is debugged and drivers deemed operational, Alpha releases move to Beta.

One would utilize this release to test new hardware or brand new driver features.

Current Alpha: Latest Drivers Are Stable Drivers (Check below)

BETA (Wan & TDM Voice/Zaptel & TDM API)

This release contains beta drivers for:
  • AFT A500 BRI Card (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A108d 8 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A104d 2 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A102/A102d 2 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A101/A101d 1 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A200 Analog FXO/FXS HW Echo Cancellation Board.
  • AFT A400 Extended Analog FXO/FXS HW Echo Cancellation Board.
  • AFT A142/A144  Serial  V35/RS232 Card
  • AFT A056K  56K  DDS Card
  • All S-Series Legacy Cards

These drivers are relatively new and contain the latest features, along with minor features being updated. Beta drivers are usually good in production environments, especially if the beta release has been out for awhile. After 2 to 3 months in the field, a beta release will be deemed stable.

It is recommended to run this release if the hardware and driver features required are not yet considered STABLE.

This release contains the stable drivers for:
  • AFT A108d 8 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A104d 2 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A102/A102d 2 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A101/A101d 1 Port T1/E1 Board (with optional HW Echo)
  • AFT A200 Analog FXO/FXS HW Echo Cancellation Board
  • AFT A400 Extended Analog FXO/FXS HW Echo Cancellation Board
  • AFT 56K DDS Card
  • All S-Series Legacy Cards

These drivers have been field tested and work in production environments. The new Stable Voice&Data branch offers stable Voice TDM drivers for above hardware.  From now on no new features will added; only bug fixes and kernel updates. One would want to use this release by default. However, new features or hardware support might be lacking.

  • AFT A101/2/4 drivers for WAN and TDM Voice architectures.
  • AFT A104-Shark without Hardware Echo Cancellation

These drivers have been field tested and work in production environments. No features are added; only bug fixes and kernel updates. One would want to use this release by default. However, new features or hardware support might be lacking.

STABLE Legacy:  (S514, S518  Wan & API)

Due to major architectural changes in newer releases needed to support AFT and TDM VOICE architectures, the STABLE LEGACY release is going to remain available for all legacy customers who are still using S514 and S518 ADSL cards for WAN and API protocols.

Note that one can still use newer releases for S514 and S518 cards however, those in production environments who require ultra-stable S514 code can still opt out for STABLE LEGACY release.

These drivers have been field tested and work in production environments. No features are ever added; only bug fixes and kernel updates. One would use this release by default. However, new features or hardware support might be lacking, compared to BETA releases.
